Coffee Questions
Every bag is roasted fresh in our Anaheim, California roastery. We generally roast within a few business days of shipment so your coffee arrives at peak freshness.
Although the coffee won't "go bad," we highly recommend that whole bean coffee is best enjoyed within 4–8 weeks of the roast date, while ground coffee is best enjoyed within 2–4 weeks after opening.
Store coffee in its original sealed bag or another airtight container in a cool, dry place away from heat, sunlight and moisture.
We don't recommend refrigerating or freezing coffee.
Oils on roasted coffee beans are the result of a natural oxidation reaction that occurs in roasted beans and over time. Coffee beans contain oil which is released in the roasting process. A lot of the aromas and flavors of the darker roast beans come from these oils. Therefore, oil in coffee beans is a normal and typical quality of dark roasted beans like our Saigon Nights, Hangover Chaser and Classic. Know that these are a natural part of the roasting process.
Coffee is one of the most highly regulated agricultural products in the world. Like many agricultural foods, trace amounts of naturally occurring compounds can exist but they remain well below established food safety standards.
As a USDA Certified Organic roaster, we source high-quality coffee from trusted partners who meet rigorous quality standards.
